Dear Friend:

All across the state of Rhode Island, but particularly in the city of Providence, there is a disproportionate number of Black Boys in special education classes, suspension rates are highter among Black Boys and the drop out rates are alarming. We must move immediately to address this very urgent and critical issue.

Save Our Boys is about increasing the graduation rates and reducing the drop out rates among Black Boys. We can never be satisfied that there is a small"increase" in test scores in the core subject areas. We will only be truly satisfied when we see a dramatic improvement in all of the issues that we have identified.
